Referencing a landscape book I’ve had for years. I never paint wild life so I thought this was a good place to try for a change.
Going Home
Mirror Beyond
Accidentally dropped this mirror trying to move it to a new spot. I picked up the larger shards and decided it needed a second life anyway. Painted the frame from black to blue and I used the same marker / coffee filter paper sheets for the background as I do with my flowers.

A Royal Portrait
Below is the sketch page on the right, then the final canvas drawing on the left. This is the second painting from these sketch ideas. I may have been thinking about alien rulers / destroyers or something. Whatever it was, I love the results.
Possessing
A spray painted background. I free handed this one and see different things when I look at it. Dancing with a ghost. Trying to kill a ghost. Being taken over by a ghost. Fending off possession. Something like that.
By Any Means
Spray painted background then free handed the rest. I have been stuck on a title, but think I’ve settled on “By Any Means” as in answering the question “how are you getting by?” Wondering about just how much it takes to stay propped up and moving through this life. Title might change but it works for now.
Blue
A pen pal of mine was so generous in sending me extra paint and fresh canvas she wasn’t using (she remembered I said I don’t purchase them often). As a thank you, I said I would paint her something and send it her way, shipping tomorrow. I looked through an old photo book I have of American landscapes and loved the blue mountain look on the horizon of the photo on the left here. My painted interpretation looks different but I wanted to bring out the parts I loved most about the photo. This was fun.
Happier Listening
I’ve done a few scrap book pages just to try my hand at it. This one is the most positive one of the bunch so far. The way things are going, it may be the only for a bit.
