The latest batch of shirts I dyed last month. Most have been given away now, but I have enough supplies left to try another few if I get the energy one day before summer is out. We’ll see.
Art, Photos, Music, some thoughts…

A Mighty Price – https://youtu.be/OwX39um73_0 – This song has been done for many weeks, but recording had to wait until my class was finished & the room was finished and I’d settled in on my new job. Took a while, but I’m glad to say I’m not quite finished with music. Lyrics at the youtube link if you’d like.

This was an open arch wood piece when I bought it. I spray painted black with white, covered the back with box cardboard I prepped white, then filled in with coffee filter paper I colored and clear coated in gloss. Love how it turned out.
A piano / voice cover of the song Ultraviolet- Original version by Spiritbox, Lyrics by Courtney LaPlante. I claim no rights and performed this video for fun. I love the song and band. https://youtu.be/meegjjDOYM8
My contest entry has been accepted
I wasn’t planning to enter this year, but I wrote this and felt it had the right energy this time, It’s a reminder to myself to be as present and open as I can be, while I can. I think it’s a message worth sharing. If you listen, thank you and I hope you enjoy. Poem below.
Be As the Water
No, the river rising won’t mind the flood.
Like arms of the ocean, to the sky every open.
Given good and bad, it fills up in love.
Any and all and more than enough.
What lessons? To accept this life gave what you need.
The good and bad equal the meaningful between.
So be as the water ever open to the sky.
Forget how you got here. Forget you asked why.
Why? Why? Why? No reason at all.
Tomorrow is yesterday, over and done.
To be is all purpose could ever want.
However you got here is with a goodbye,
Sure as the loss as each moment here dies.
So be as the water ever open to the sky.
Forget how you got here. Forget you ask why.
Why? Why? No reason at all.

A small canvas skull painting, the first completed of 2024. Last year put me through it and making it to the next with such a changed perspective is a gift I paid a high cost, but that’s that. The coward in me will be put to death at every turn this year. No more suffering.
New album. Piano / Guitar / Voice. Available wherever you stream. The Bandcamp link is complete with lyrics and audio as intended. Thanks for listening if you have the time: https://allysonmarie.bandcamp.com/album/if-courage-holds

Referencing a landscape book I’ve had for years. I never paint wild life so I thought this was a good place to try for a change.

Accidentally dropped this mirror trying to move it to a new spot. I picked up the larger shards and decided it needed a second life anyway. Painted the frame from black to blue and I used the same marker / coffee filter paper sheets for the background as I do with my flowers.

Taken just after a rain. An empty trail just for me.
